Sad
“Sad” is my expression of how deeply disconnected we have become from the damage we cause not only to nature, but to ourselves. This painting represents the sadness of the universe watching humanity destroy its own home.
We have become spectators in our own collapse. We see fires on the news, cities falling apart, species going extinct and we react with surprise, as if we didn’t create the problem.
The buildings stand tall, cold, and mechanical symbols of industrialization, progress, and the structures we blindly trust. But at the center, a fire burns through one of the rooftops, representing chaos, destruction, and the consequences of our choices.
Above the city floats a cosmic face the Sky, the Universe, the Consciousness looking down with on.
The sad face in the sky is the emotional truth of this painting:
the universe is watching us and it is hurting.
We look up for hope, for help, for miracles…
but the universe can only watch as we sabotage our own world.
This painting is a reminder that the Earth doesn’t destroy us
we destroy ourselves.
