Fish Foods
“Fish Foods” is my cry against the destruction we cause to the waters that keep us alive. This piece was inspired by the brutal reality of marine pollution.
The eyes at the top of the painting represent the sadness of awareness the feeling of watching humanity destroy the planet that gives us life. These are the eyes of nature, the universe.
The red triangular nose points down toward the contaminated waves as reminding us to look at what we prefer to ignore.
The mouth, shaped like a boat, symbolizes the vessels responsible for much of the pollution.
The waves painted turbulent and alive carry both beauty and pain.
Below them, two fish rise toward the surface, their bodies broken, stained, and altered by the contamination they have swallowed, not by choice but by survival.
This artwork expresses one essential truth:
When we destroy nature, we destroy ourselves.
Everything we throw into the ocean returns to us in our food, in our bodies, in our future. Polluting the sea is not only environmental destruction it is self-sabotage.
