Self-Destruction

Self-Destruction

$9,300.00

“Self-Destruction” is a painting born from the tension between destruction and creation the two forces that live inside every human being, and inside the world. This piece reflects how easily we forget that we are both the problem and the solution. We hold both flames in our hands. The two mirrored figures share one body, one heart, and one center symbolizing that humanity is divided and unified. Both figures stand on the same body a symbol that humanity is one organism, one soul, one shared destiny.

The split heads, facing opposite directions, represent the conflict between our choices, love or hate, peace or war, compassion or violence, unity or division.

The two flames represent the two directions we can take toward destruction, or toward unity. Fire can destroy or it can illuminate. The red background represents the intensity of human emotion, the heat of conflict, and the passion that drives us. It is the color of danger, the color of life, and the color of awakening.

The white center on the figure’s body, marked by a single red circle, symbolizes purity, truth, and the original innocence we were all born with the place inside us that remains untouched by hate. It is the reminder that beyond division, we share the same core.

This painting expresses a truth I feel deeply:
When we fight each other, we fight ourselves.
When we burn the world, we burn our own home.
When we divide, we suffer.

We are one, even when we pretend not to be.
